 Octbox D36 Anniversary Edition - November 2025

I bought an Octbox D25 way back in 2012 when I started match fishing again. I looked at all the boxes on the market and the Octbox ticked all the boxes. I used the box for many years and then upgraded to my second Octbox.

My first D25 Octbox in 2012

For the past few years I have been using a Preston Absolute Carbon - thinking it would be very light. It is light, but not as licht as you might think. Still, a very good box and I'm glad I had one.

Now, 13 years later, out of the blue, I received an E-Mail from Rick Tyler, the owner and designer of the Octbox system. He is bringing out an Anniversary Edition with quite a few upgrades to the box and the drawer system. Mmm... time for a change?

Yes! Especially with the good deal on offer. Many thanks Rick!

I had all the Octbox kit a few years ago.

I have placed my order for an Octbox D36 Anniversary Edition in Black with a 4-drawer system. Plus the front pole rest, an XL bait tray, a standard bait tray and an umbrella system.

I'm sure more bits and pieces will be added over time, but I can get those from Paul Keisers at Hengelsport Haaksbergen. He's the sole dealer over here on mainland Europe.

The great thing about the Octbox is it's strength and stability. There is no need for a separate platform, and you can easily use it as a trolley. The drawer unit can easily be detached, and you can set up the frame on the bank first. Add the drawer unit back when you are ready and off you go.

There is nothing better than catching fish on the long pole - perfect presentation every time.
